In vitro cytotoxicity tests
We perform in vitro cytotoxicity tests of chemicals (e.g. active compounds of drugs or cosmetics), or of extracts from medical devices according to EN/ISO 10993-5
Routinely, permanent cell lines are used in in vitro cytotoxicity tests. Depending on the intended use of the medical device or compound we may perform tests also with human primary cells, e.g.:
- Fibroblasts
- Endothelial cells
- Vascular smooth muscle cells
- Keratinocytes
- Mesenchymal stem cells
- or other mammalian cell lines or human primary cells
Model of an artificial artery
eXcorLab is skilled to coculture endothelial cells and smooth muscle cells in hollow-fiber membrane bioreactors. This in vitro model of an artificial artery allows testing active compounds (pharmaceuticals) in the area of
- Stroke (apoplexia)
- Cardiac infarction
- Arteriosclerosis
- Hypertension
- or drug candidates for indications such as vascular damage and inflammation
