Research and development

In addition to our supply of services for customers we are involved in research projects, often to optimize membrane based medical devices, to develop and evaluate new fields of application for materials interacting with cells or blood and to improve existing diagnostic methods and therapeutic procedures for the treatment of the cardio-renal syndrome.

Several projects were supported and are currently funded by considerable research funding institutions like e.g.: the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the European Commission (Marie Curie Initial Training Network). This enables eXcorLab to continuously improve existing expertise e.g. in the fields of culturing human primary cells, cell lines, hemocompatibility and existing methods.

Cell Culture Laboratory

In our research branch, among other projects, we developed in vitro methods which could lead to the reduction of animal experiments. By this we contributed to efforts testing substances with therapeutic potential in the field of cardio-vascular diseases without the use of laboratory animals.
